Meet the Founder

Erika is a current Junior at Diamond Bar High School with a passion for helping youth and elderly communities. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in business with a focus on social entrepreneurship and philanthropy. She plans to utilize innovative solutions to address global challenges and create meaningful impact for communities.

Erika is a founder of a nonprofit called ChessByErika https://chessbyerika.weebly.com/

Through this, she has been able to teach 600+ students in lower-income areas how to play chess for free. In addition, as an avid volunteer at her local senior home, she has had the opportunity to facilitate and interact with residents during their numerous daily activities.

Having had grandparents with dementia, Erika received first-hand insight on how interacting with people with dementia was like. In her culture, it wasn’t common for children to bond or create a close connection with their grandparents, making the two weeks she visited every summer, the only way they could possibly connect.

With that, Erika decided to create MindLink. She wanted to combine her passions of helping the youth and elderly community and create something that would help a problem at its root.
